Commercial Medical / Dental LVP Glue-Down Orlando, FL 2,000 Sq. Ft. Weekend Turnaround

Project Overview

Dental and medical offices operate under demanding cleaning, traffic, and scheduling requirements. Flooring in these spaces must be selected for the clinic’s use, compatible with approved cleaning products listed by the manufacturer, and able to support the expected movement of dental chairs, exam stools, and equipment carts.

This Orlando dental practice came to Cavalieri Flooring for a fast commercial flooring replacement. The existing glue-down carpet was removed and replaced with LVP across approximately 2,000 square feet. They needed a solution installed quickly, with minimal downtime, before the clinic reopened Monday morning.

This project covered approximately 2,000 square feet of the dental clinic. The crew first ripped out the existing glue-down carpet, then prepared the floor and installed new LVP throughout the project area.

Because the clinic needed to be open for patients Monday morning, the work was scheduled and completed over the weekend. The weekend turnaround gave the practice a refreshed, durable floor while avoiding a weekday closure.

The Challenge: Commercial Hygiene, Equipment Load, and a One-Weekend Deadline

Dental office flooring must meet a different set of requirements than standard commercial flooring. The primary concerns this client raised were:

The schedule was also a critical part of the challenge: the approximately 2,000-square-foot job — including ripping out the existing glue-down carpet and installing the new LVP — had to be completed in one weekend before the dental clinic opened Monday morning. The work had to move efficiently without compromising the preparation or installation.

Our Approach: Full-Spread Glue-Down LVP

After inspecting the existing subfloor and reviewing the client's priorities, we recommended a commercial luxury vinyl plank installed with full-spread adhesive — also known as a glue-down installation. The selected adhesive system, product instructions, substrate condition, and site requirements all informed the installation approach.

Full-spread adhesive bonds the LVP to the prepared subfloor and is designed to resist movement under normal commercial rolling traffic. The finished floor still has plank joints, but the joints were installed tight and fully bonded according to the project requirements.

We selected a light gray wood-look LVP. The light gray tone supports a clean, professional appearance while the wood-look pattern adds visual warmth to the treatment areas. Product-specific cleaning compatibility and performance remain subject to the selected manufacturer’s instructions.

For transition areas between rooms and at thresholds, we configured profiles and transitions for the project’s accessibility requirements and equipment traffic rather than describing them as universally compliant.

Results: Clean, Quiet, and Ready for Commercial Use

The completed installation has now been in service through an active dental practice schedule, and the results have exceeded the client's expectations. Staff report that the floor is quieter than the previous carpet, with rolling equipment moving smoothly across the installed surface.

The light gray surface supports a clean, professional appearance. Plank joints are tight and fully bonded, and the finished floor was completed in time for the clinic to reopen Monday morning after the one-weekend installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Commercial-grade luxury vinyl plank installed with full-spread glue-down adhesive can be a practical choice for dental and medical offices when the selected product is rated for the space. Its cleanable surface, plank-joint design, and installation method can support routine maintenance and rolling traffic; cleaning compatibility and performance depend on manufacturer instructions and project conditions.
Floating LVP can flex and shift under heavy rolling equipment, creating hollow spots and audible creaking over time. Full-spread glue-down LVP bonds directly to the subfloor and is designed to resist movement under normal commercial rolling traffic; the result depends on the product, adhesive system, substrate, and installation conditions.
In many cases, yes — provided the existing surface is flat, structurally sound, and properly bonded. Our team assesses the subfloor condition before recommending whether to install over or remove existing flooring. For medical offices, we typically prefer a fresh subfloor surface to ensure the best adhesive bond and a fully flat result.
Most small-to-medium commercial offices (1,000–3,000 sq ft) can be completed in 1–3 days, including subfloor prep and trim work. We work around office hours when possible — including evening and weekend scheduling — to minimize business disruption.
