Material Preparation
Order 5% extra for cutting waste and grading. Inspect all planks in daylight before installation. Shuffle from multiple cartons for best color variation.
Subfloor Requirements
- Clean, dry, flat to 3/16" per 10-foot radius
- Wood: Securely fastened, moisture ≤ 13%
- Concrete: Fully cured (60+ days). Moisture barrier required. Max 8 lbs calcium chloride or 90% RH
- Existing hard floors: Well-bonded, clean, level
Radiant Heat & Expansion
Compatible with floating installation only (max 85°F surface). Leave 1/4" expansion gap around all walls and fixed objects.
Drop-Lock Floating Installation
Installation Steps
Step 1: Measure room width. Ensure final row ≥ 1/3 plank width. Leave 1/4" expansion gap.
Step 2: Begin along the longest wall with spacers. Cut tongue off first row.
Step 3: Connect first-row planks by dropping the short end into place.
Step 4: For subsequent rows, angle the long edge at 20° into the previous row and press down. Slide and drop the short end to lock.
Step 5: Stagger end joints by at least 6". Use cut pieces ≥ 8" as row starters.
Step 6: Use rubber mallet and tapping block to fully engage all joints.
Step 7: Rip final row to width. Remove spacers and install transition moldings and baseboards.
Care & Maintenance
- Sweep or vacuum regularly with soft-bristle broom or vacuum without beater bar.
- Damp mop with pH-neutral vinyl cleaner. No steam mops or abrasive cleaners.
- Wipe up spills promptly. Use felt pads under furniture.
- Place doormats at entrances. Maintain temperature 60°F–80°F, humidity 35%–55%.
- Protect from prolonged direct sunlight.
