Pre-Installation

Before you begin installation, remember to P.A.C.E. yourself with the checklist below.

Note: The Shorebreak collection has been discontinued. This installation guide is provided for reference for existing purchased product.

Acclimation

Acclimate for 48 hours in the installation room at 65°F–85°F. Keep boxes unopened and flat.

Subfloor Requirements

  • Flat, clean, dry. Max 3/16" variation over 10 feet.
  • Concrete: Fully cured (60+ days). Moisture barrier required.
  • Wood: Securely fastened, moisture ≤ 13%.

Underlayment

Quality underlayment required. On concrete, use moisture barrier underneath. Leave 1/4" to 3/8" expansion gap.

Floating Click-Lock Installation

Installation Steps

Step 1: Install underlayment. Tape all seams.

Step 2: Plan the tile layout. The Shorebreak collection features a tile format — plan for symmetrical cuts on opposite walls.

Step 3: Begin in a corner with spacers. Cut tongue off first row.

Step 4: Connect tiles by angling and clicking. Stagger joints per the manufacturer's pattern guide.

Step 5: Use tapping block and rubber mallet. Never strike directly.

Step 6: Cut border tiles to fit. Remove spacers and install baseboards.

Care & Maintenance

  • Sweep or vacuum regularly. Damp mop with laminate-specific cleaner.
  • Do NOT use wet mops, steam mops, or excessive water.
  • Wipe up spills immediately. Use felt pads under furniture.
  • Maintain temperature 65°F–85°F, humidity 35%–65%.
